The clothes are inspired by the era just before the Vietnam War, when America was still in its own youth, and the classics – blue jeans, plaid shirts, and argyle sweaters — were an inseparable part of the cultural identity. Films like “The Last Picture Show” and “The Deer Hunter” represent the moment when the fledgling teen culture went off to war and came back uncelebrated.
