Church retreats are an excellent way to involve the church in an important part of church involvement. Offering a church retreat creates community and support with the people closest to you spiritually. Planned correctly, a church retreat can be excellent for the church's overall well-being.

There are some key issues to think about when planning a church retreat. Get a group of interested people together to form your committee. These people will probably enjoy the church retreat the most because they worked on it personally. So, the idea is to involve as many people as possible to create the best possible outcome with your church retreat. Now that you have your committee established, decide on the date and duration of your retreat. This can be determined by the budget you have or by the theme you are planning on using. When planning church retreats, remember God is the real focus. Pray for guidance and support. Nehemiah 2:20 says "Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem." Remember that God will bless all good things you do in building up His name.
